Sunset Shores
Sunset Shores is a small community of just 16 sites, all 5 acres or more, offering white sandy beach that stretches for several miles along the Chesapeake Bay to the mouth of the Hungar’s Creek.
The property offers high elevation and has septic certification for up to 7 bedroom homes.
The approach to the property is about the best on the shore. After leaving Hwy. 13, our main artery, you travel about 4 miles passing through the villages of Nassawadox and Franktown with their many historic homes and by several large family farms. Beautiful farm houses, many with rows of white fencing for horses, are built hundreds of feet from the road. If these farms were to be subdivided under current zoning they would become new construction on a one home per twenty acre density.
Waterfront owners own their own beach with ripirian rights. The first waterfront home, 6,500 square feet, replicates a sand castle and towers three stories. Three more owners have built their dream homes. Our home sites are in an area with other estates of similar size with no public access to the beach. Miles of beautiful beach line is shared only by adjoining property owners.
Water access owners enjoy a 45 ft. beach front common area with high elevation on the Chesapeake Bay, where you can walk for miles along a beautiful sandy shoreline and enjoy an abundance of water fowl gliding over the sparkling waters of the Bay. There is a second common area on the Westerhouse Creek, giving the property owners access for launching canoes and kayaks. The Westerhouse Creek access will also be a great place for fishing, crabbing and bird watching.
Sunset Shores lives up to its name, offering spectacular sunsets glistening over the sands of one of the area’s finest shore lines.
